What Makes A Poor Boss?
I have got got been employed by a figure of different companies and have therefore had a figure of different bosses. In this article I will be authorship about what, in my opinion, represents a mediocre boss. I am hoping that by doing this it will actually assist other people who are in direction to improve.
My last foreman was a far-out character. He had a existent deficiency of attention towards his employees and the staff turnover, for the section he was in complaint of, was extremely high. I often wondered why people who were above him never stepped in to inquiry this as it can not have got looked good for the company as a whole. This fellow on a Monday morning time would inquire how your weekend went but you could just state that he was not interested at all and that he was not even listening to your response. In fact before you had a opportunity to finish the reply he had started to speak about work. I retrieve him asking how people's vacation had been, they would answer and he would always reply, oh thats good. I could say that he had not listened to the reply and often hoped that somebody, just once, would state how bad their vacation had been. "Oh that's good!"
This cat was also very mediocre at determination making. Talk about in-decisive, the word was invented for this boss. As a section we needed strong and confident leadership, this was something we never had with this individual in charge.
Communication is a large portion of direction and unfortunately this was another failing of my former boss. I would always look to hear the up-to-the-minute company news from friends in other sections before hearing it from my ain boss. Their directors always seemed to maintain them well informed over any developments, mine liked to maintain all of the information to himself.
I apologise if this article have been slightly on the negative side. I am actually hoping that its readers can larn something from it, in fact of what do a good boss!
